Bertempat di SMA Negeri 2 Distrik Wanggar Nabire, pihak sekolah mengadakan kegiatan Pendidikan Latihan Dasar (Diklatsar), Palang Merah Remaja (PMR) Wira, SMA Negeri 2 Nabire sejak 31 Agustus hingga 2 September 2018.
Tujuan diadakannya kegiatan Diklatsar ini adalah untuk memperkenalkan Palang Merah kepada siswa baru, serta memotivasi calon anggota baru untuk lebih mencintai organisasi dengan harapan calon anggota nanti bisa mempertahankan dan mengembangkan organisasi kemanusiaan ini dengan lebih baik.
Selain itu juga untuk menanamkan rasa percaya diri, rasa cinta dan rasa bangga kepada organisasi, Memotivasi anggota PMR untuk terus berusaha menumbuh kembangkan kegiatan Ke-PMR-an semata-mata demi kemanusiaan.
Menurut Panitia kegiatan, Wahyu Diantoro, Pelatihan Diklatsar PMR ini merupakan salah satu progam kerja PMR WIRA SMA Negeri 2 Nabire.
Total peserta yang mengikuti kegiatan ini sebanyak 73 orang siswa, terdiri dari siswa pria sebanyak 29 dan wanita sebanyak 44. Siswa dari kelas X sebanyak 3 orang dan siswa kelas XI sebanyak 70 orang.
Materi yang diberikan berupa sejarah PMI, bencana, pertolongan pertama, HIV/AIDS, Kespro, Napza dan Gender. Sementara pemateri adalah guru SMA Negeri 2 Nabire, alumni PMR SMA Negeri 2 Nabire dan anggota senior PMR.
